The role


We are looking for an ambitious content all-rounder to take on the running of some of our smaller accounts and new business pitches. You will work closely with the Group Content Director, Managing Director and Account Directors to ensure creative excellence across your accounts, motivate editorial staff, oversee the pitches/ new client briefs which are allocated to you and assist with the smooth running of the relevant creative teams.



You’ll be able to fully deputise for the Group Content Director across these accounts. You can create content strategies for a diverse range of clients (or work with specialist freelancers), build content slides in Powerpoint decks and sell these with confidence. You are equally good at winning new accounts and bedding them in/ setting them up for success. You can both generate big ideas and deliver them with punchy, effective creative across any content platform – whether that’s a headline, a reel or a print magazine.



Key Responsibilities:


Development of accounts


  • Work with your content leads to ensure each account’s strategic content objectives and quality are met and exceeded
  • Operate to a process which ensures content across your accounts is regularly reviewed, analysed and innovated to ensure account success
  • Research the market to ensure innovative creative ideas are pitched and launched for your accounts
  • Spot growth opportunities within content for accounts
  • Develop client relationships across accounts and attend key quarterly and annual client reviews
  • Hands-on content lead on accounts where required


People management


  • Line management and talent development of your content teams
  • Ensure the continued digital development of all content leads and creators through seeking upskilling opportunities across all key skills from strategy to SEO to video to new platform ways of working
  • Contribute to staff appraisals
  • Help to launch and scale new accounts including onboarding and mentoring new Editors
  • Assist in recruitment of content / editorial positions, including freelance



About You:



  • Skilled in editorial and content strategy across a variety of platforms, both print and digital
  • Strategic and integrated campaign experience – able to create content eco systems that map through to every format
  • Experienced in answering a variety of client briefs (RTBs, tissue, QBRs etc), decoding complex briefs, and able to build strong creative ideas and client-ready decks, based on insights from our strategy and research teams
  • Senior level social media experience (ideally including running social campaigns)
  • Happy in a fast-paced environment, agile and unflappable. Able to roll your sleeves up, be hands on and hands off as required
  • Strong presenting skills
  • SEO
  • Video - concepting, interviewing or in the edit – would be a bonus
  • Excellent people skills, ability to manage and motivate others
  • Ability to build rapport and long-term relationships both internally and externally
  • Proactive and positive approach
