Territory Sales Manager
The Role: If you are a service technician, field engineering professional, or a sales person with a time-served hands-on background in materials handling looking for a new role, then this could be the one for you
We are supporting a global business to recruit a new Territory Sales Manager in the North of England to sell a range of engineered after-market attachments for fork lift trucks, AGV's, and materials handling units. This role will see the Territory Sales Manager build & maintain relationships with hundreds of FLT businesses comprising of major OEM customers through to distribution organisations and everyone in between. You will be working in conjunction with their sales teams across the region, working collaboratively on projects with their end-user customer base to provide solutions for their niche materials handling needs. This will come in the form of phone, video, and face to face activity, as well as site surveys and joint visits in which you will be providing technical expertise to support the bids & tender process in the sales cycle.
This is a fully autonomous role where you will be managing your own diary, booking your appointments, and building your personal brand across the territory to ensure you're the first port of call when an OEM sales team needs your attachments to get their trucks in to their end-users. This is a very different sales role to your typical FLT new business type role and is very much a relationship-led & technically supportive sales position.

The Company: BMS are recruiting for a global organisation who are operating in over 30 countries across the world, who have over 3000 employees, and have a history dating back to the 1940's. The UK arm of this business are a fantastic bunch of people who genuinely love what they do and the people they do it with. Due to an internal promotion, and some movement, they are looking for a new Territory Manager to fit in to the business and continue to build & maintain amazing relationships with their clients. They give their sales people true autonomy, have no micromanagement, and offer excellent technical training.
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Come from a technical background within the materials handling or fork lift truck sectors
- Are a natural relationship builder
- An organised, structured, and motivated technical professional
- Understands consultative selling processes
- Superb communication skills internally & externally
- Comfortable on the phone, on video meeting, and face to face
- Clean driving licence
Salary: Up to £43,000 + 7.5% bonus (paid annually) + Plug In Hybrid Vehicle (Tesla until March 2025) + 4% matched pension + 25 days holiday + DIS x2 + Phone + Laptop
Candidate Location: Leeds, Newcastle (or close by)
