The role:

  • Support and maintain excellent relationships with existing business partners to ensure their ongoing support and commitment to the brand and product range.
  • Provide direct field sales support to independent trade channels, enhancing in-store product presentation and implementing tailored in-house training, including tastings and promotional events.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive journey plan to ensure effective coverage across the UK. Work closely with key customers to set detailed plans that align with annual sales targets, ensuring their successful achievement.
  • Conduct product audits and gather market intelligence for the marketing team, focusing on development opportunities, competitor activities, and trade promotions.
  • Identify and recommend actions for new business opportunities, both with existing customers and in untapped markets, contributing positively to the overall business plan.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and competitor activities, proposing proactive strategies to maintain our market position.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing trade shows, key events, and promotional activities in line with the overall trade marketing plan.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, championing their premium products across all customer interactions and target audiences.


You:

  • A seasoned Account Manager with a successful track record in key account management, business acquisition, and growth within the independent trade sales sector, particularly in the food industry.
  • Confident and articulate, able to inspire and influence at all levels, including senior management.
  • Highly organised with strong planning capabilities, demonstrating the ability to implement effective sales strategies.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter who can motivate others and gain the support of both customers and internal teams.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, competitive environment, with a flexible approach to embracing change and continuous development.
  • Adept at navigating and building relationships across independent trade channels.
  • Extensive travel across the UK is required, with a full UK driving license.
  • Minimum of 2 years in sales and sales development with demonstrated progression and success, ideally within the food sector.
  • Proven experience in working with and expanding the reach of branded products.
