Our People Operations team is seeking a People Admin Manager (Maternity cover - 12 months FTE). This role will be instrumental in managing and overseeing the operations function of the People team for all Group Companies to streamline and improve services. You will oversee the delivery of high and variable volumes of work output within the People Operations team, delivering in a timely and accurate manner with attention to detail at the core.


Your responsibilities

Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:

  • Playing a key role in the performance of the people function as well as providing guidance and decision making on operational matters relating to your area.
  • Managing and developing team members including conducting performance check ins and the setting of clear objectives.
  • To manage the People Operations across the group (and all areas of the people team ie talent, development, operations etc), responsible for implementation of agreed objectives, on plan and within agreed financial parameters.
  • To support team member engagement and retention by managing and co-ordinating standards of excellence through policies, procedures, SOPS, day-to-day operations and team member interactions with the people team.
  • Build effective, collaborative working relationships with relevant key stakeholders across the business including the wider people team to understand and continually re-evaluate operational needs to ensure they are aligned with business need.
  • Ownership for reviewing all People administrative processes and standard operating procedures, putting recommendations forward for improvements and change.
  • Proactively maintain accurate documentation, templates and amend/ create new as required, taking account of legislative or procedural changes during regularly reviews. Ensure that all correspondence is 2nd checked before distribution.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll data process by collating information and populating payroll spreadsheets, ensuring that key changes are incorporated and communicated to internal payroll and other stakeholders as required. Manage and oversee the annual pay review processes for the Group companies, ensuring all stakeholders are communicated with and that key changes are incorporated as required.
  • Proactively manage reward and benefits across the group.
  • Support (alongside the CPO and TMP) the annual remuneration process, including the provision of salary benchmarks (WTW data), administration of bonus schemes and annual pay review communication process.
  • Ensure our Talent Management Programme remains, working with the wider People team, is as streamlined (as systems allow) and monitor adherence, and provide reporting from data available.
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure the people team is sharing best practice and optimising a range of communication channels to support our people.
  • Support as required with M&A in respect of operational support for TUPE consultations, due diligence and supporting new team members joining the company in line with our growth strategy.
  • Ownership of the People System and ensure that it is fully and efficiently utilised, working with the wider team to build understanding of how to extract and interpret data within the team.
  • Work with the wider team to lead and support on key projects, such as benefits and HRIS implementation.
  • Track key people metrics, including but not limited to; engagement scores, time to productivity and retention rates and work with the wider people team to identify ways to improve metrics.
  • Being accountable for managing a workload to the highest standards, using knowledge and skills to add measurable value to the internal client’s experience.


What you need:

  • Experience of people operations from both a strategic and operational level
  • Experience in managing a People team with a strong understanding of People Operations
  • MS Office suite [Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Powerpoint, MS Forms] to advanced level. Ability to apply pivot tables, formula, V look ups.
  • Good level of GSCE’s in Maths and English grade C above equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of People policy development and review.
  • Experience of reviewing and changing processes
  • Demonstrate creativity and practicality in approach to carrying out change initiatives
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
  • High regard for confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal with good communication skills
