Why do we need you?

At SGIS we are looking for an Area Sales Manager to work within Divisional Sales.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and implement a profitable targeted sales plan for the agreed geographical area to deliver improved market share and a preferential product mix at best possible price through teamwork across channels, functions, the wider business and active engagement with trade customers.

Postcodes covered by this role are; CM, E, EC, EN, IG, RM, SS.

Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions is a collective that brings together the know-how and technical expertise of British Gypsum and Isover, providing an extensive range of innovative, high-performance drylining and insulation solutions for multiple applications across the residential, commercial and RMI sectors.

What we're looking for

Essential on entry:

  • Experience in delivering profitable sales in a sales role
  • Effective Communications and Influencing Skills
  • Ability to work as a team, collaborating across depts.
  • Self-motivated, organised and using CRM to support the business plan and needs of customers
  • Ability to adapt to change and be agile in ways of working to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Develop and manage customer relations, managing key stakeholders

Essential in role:

  • Meets the requirements of the Company Competency Matrix
  • Knowledge of the regional market place and products to maximise opportunities
  • Ability to consultative sell offering solutions not products
  • Effective proactive use of CRM systems

What you will be doing

Tactical Implementation

  • Create and develop an area sales plan for the agreed geography in line with the regional sales plan creating a clear vision of how individuals prospects and customers can contribute towards the overall plan objectives. Plans to be executed with key stake holders in Merchants, Distribution & Installers.

Development and Sustainable Team

  • Is actively engaged and encouraged about their own development taking ownership of their individual development plan with the assistance, coaching and mentoring from their line manager and other members of the business if appropriate

Working as a Team

  • Bring their individual style and personality to their day to day activities whilst operating within the wider culture of the channel. Is as actively engaged with other teams as they are with their own in order to sustainably delivered the objectives of the area plan

Market Management

  • Implement of the area plan, including the negotiation of trading terms for independent accounts, discussions with Sub Contractors and MCFA Partners in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director and cross channel colleagues, to deliver the best possible balance of volume, product mix and profitability

New Product Sales

  • Development and implementation of new product area plans, in line with national and regional sales plans, to deliver sales in line with our Product Leadership objectives

Management of Demand

  • Be the focal point for the exchange of information between customers, sales teams and other departments so that up to date information is available to all parties and a serviceable balance of supply and demand is maintained. Condition sub-contractors and distributors
