Job Summary: The International Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion on a global scale. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing a diverse sales team, and fostering strong relationships with international clients. The International Business Development Manager will identify new business opportunities, ensure customer satisfaction, and work towards achieving the company's sales objectives in various international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential markets and customer needs.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets in international markets.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to refine sales strategies.
Sales Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the international sales team, ensuring they meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide training, support, and performance feedback to the sales team members.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for the sales team.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Negotiate and close sales deals with international clients.
- Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships in international markets.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and sales leads.
- Attend international trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company's products and services.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
- Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies in international markets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
- Collaborate with regional managers to align sales efforts with local market needs and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in international sales management, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving market expansion.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, market dynamics, and cultural differences.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
