Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Formulation Specialist to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in pharmaceutical or related sciences, with expertise in formulation science. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate to translate ideas and co-develop technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize aerosol delivery formulations for various biopharmaceuticals.
  • Utilize advanced formulation principles to ensure efficient pulmonary delivery of biologics.
  • Conduct and develop in vitro experiments to evaluate formulation efficacy, stability, and safety.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to guide formulation optimization.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other cross-functional teams to design and assess experimental hardware.
  • Keep current with developments in biopharmaceutics, formulation science, and respiratory drug delivery.
  • Contribute actively within a dynamic startup environment, where your ideas and input will be valued.
  • Present the company’s technologies and scientific expertise at international conferences.


What We are Looking For:

As a core member of a small team, you must demonstrate a proactive attitude, high motivation, and strong communication and teamwork skills. A passion for science and for developing innovative respiratory drug delivery solutions for biologics is essential. You should be able to communicate your own expertise and understand inputs from others effectively. Adaptability and strong organizational skills are critical in the startup environment, where priorities can shift quickly. You will lead in-lab formulation development and conduct chemical and biological analyses.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • PhD in pharmaceutics or a related scientific field, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Experience in formulation development, ideally within respiratory drug delivery.
  • A collaborative, innovative, and problem-solving approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience in presentations and scientific writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup setting.


Location and Commitments:

  • Full-time position.
  • Laboratory-based in Bristol.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
  • Travel to client sites and conferences may be required; travel expenses will be covered.
