Working in partnership with one of the UK’s largest finances houses, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Project Manager to oversee and drive their software development project. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the embedded finance solution within scope, budget, and timeline. The contract Project Manager will have expertise in managing projects related to alternative payment methods, point of sale finance and embedded finance products. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in project management, proven track record in software development projects, and the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.


Key responsibilities:

· Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.

· Develop detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, resource allocation, timelines, and milestones.

· Coordinate and lead project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and adherence to project plans.

· Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

· Conduct regular status meetings, provide project updates, and facilitate decision-making to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

· Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure efficient resource utilisation.

· Ensure compliance with project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.

· Liaise with business users, product owners, and development teams to understand requirements, address issues, and manage change requests.

· Facilitate the resolution of conflicts, manage expectations, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

· Prepare project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.


Key skills and experience:

· Proven experience as a Project Manager, leading software development projects.

· Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.

· Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to ensure project objectives are understood and met.

· Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to managing project risks and issues.

· Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, and tracking project progress.

· Knowledge of alternative payment methods, point of sale finance, or related domains is a plus.

· Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile frameworks.

· Relevant project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are beneficial.
