Context

Diageo has embarked on an exciting and significant business transformation programme underpinned by SAP S/4 HANA. Through this programme, Diageo aims to drive process, system and data standardization and simplification. Voyager is a global programme and will be delivered in waves over a multi-year period.

The Change Management team is a critical enabler of the Voyager programme. Diageo is seeking a Global Training Manager to join the Change Management team, an individual who has proven experience in planning and delivering comprehensive, multi-format training to business teams to enable the transition to and adoption of new processes, systems, data, behaviours and ways of working.


Purpose of Role

The Global Training Manager will own the Voyager Group Reporting training strategy and plan to deliver a business-community focused training curriculum that develops and sustains new capabilities. This will be achieved by working with the Global Change Management Team (comprising Change Impacts management, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement and Training), third-party service providers, regional and local Change and Deployment teams and/or representatives, the programme leadership team and business stakeholders.

The role will report into the Global Change Lead, Group Reporting to support the workstream’s overall Change responsibilities; location is flexible.


KEY Accountabilities

  1. Shapes the Group Reporting training vision, strategy and plan and coordination of all activities with Diageo and third-party service providers as well as regional and local teams. Aligns with wider S/4 HANA training strategy & plan.
  2. Leverage and adapt the existing framework to provide effective reporting on the progress of Training activities, covering but not limited to progress reporting, risks & issues management and business readiness, operating to the project’s governance standards.
  3. Deliver a blended training curriculum, in partnership with Diageo’s Learning & Development team, for deployment on Diageo’s Learning Hub, designed with business-communities and personas at its heart. With a continuous improvement mindset, pro-actively seek opportunities to adapt and adjust in flight.
  4. Owns & leads process to ensure users are correctly mapped to Training courses.
  5. Supports Change & Deployment teams including the Change Network to understand training activities and successfully deliver training outcomes.
  6. Leverage and adapt the governance process for quality assurance of training outcomes including as appropriate mandatory training attendance and ensure outputs meet agreed standards.
  7. Manage technical tools and training environments to meet delivery timelines.
  8. Collaborate and align with the Voyager Change Management and Communications Team to incorporate key messages on behavioural / cultural changes into learning content in addition to process and functional.
  9. Collaborate / support the Voyager Global Change Lead & Programme Leadership Team in performing various activities and producing deliverables for the Voyager programme.


Qualifications and experience required

  • Degree educated in relevant business or subject.
  • 10+ years’ experience in leading & executing training on global transformational projects, ideally SAP / IT-enabled.
  • Track record of working with or managing third-party providers to steer, input and collaborate to achieve project goals as one team.
  • Excellent skills in programme training strategy and curriculum design as well as user population identification.
  • Experience in translation and managing learning content localization process.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills and ability to effectively target and tailor the message and medium to various audience groups to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and ability to meet agreed project milestones.
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools (Microsoft suite and other specialists such as SAP Enable, Captivate, Camtasia) to develop training template and content.
  • Experience of LMS systems for deployment, management and tracking.


Barriers to success in the role

  • Inability to align effectively with business stakeholders for deploying Voyager training.
  • Inability to establish mutual trust or display cultural sensitivity.
  • Inability to work with third party service providers to lead and collaborate on Learning & Adoption activities.
  • Inability to work as a team, sharing content, aligning inputs and outputs.
  • Inability to meet milestones through insufficient team and risk management.
