Join us as a Mandatory Learning Lead

  • This is a critical role in which you’ll develop, embed, and maintain regulatory mandatory learning strategies for NatWest Markets and deliver mandatory training initiatives in alignment with our Learning & Development operating model
  • You’ll be recognised as the strategic lead for regulatory mandatory learning in NatWest Markets, using the mandatory learning strategy as a key risk mitigation tool and promoting a proactive compliance and continuous learning culture
  • The work you do with ensure our people are equipped with the skills and tools they need to excel in their roles while keeping the bank safe

What you’ll do

As a Mandatory Learning Lead, you’ll deliver regulatory mandatory learning strategies for NatWest Markets. You’ll collaborate with, and influence leadership to embed the learning strategy within the broader business goals and you’ll drive regulatory learning strategies that are tailored to both global and regional regulatory requirements.

You’ll also:

  • Shape and oversee governance practices for regulatory learning programmes, tracking progress against agreed metrics and ensuring alignment with NatWest Markets-specific business outcomes
  • Own, embed, and manage the NatWest Markets Learning assessment framework and data analytics to evaluate learning initiatives, assessment of effectiveness, and risk mitigation impact, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Develop, embed, and manage the NatWest Markets regulatory learning curriculum, ensuring that all training initiatives are appropriate in supporting the bank''s compliance and risk objectives alongside Markets business goals
  • Tailor to the diverse needs of different regions through the annual risk-based training needs analysis and plans
  • Work in partnership with Group Learning and Development (L&D) to ensure seamless execution of the learning strategy and address any emerging needs
  • Facilitate effective oversight of internal services delivered to NatWest Markets from the Group L&D Centre of Excellence

The skills you’ll need

We’re looking for someone with in-depth expertise in regulatory conduct and compliance learning and governance in the context of a global financial markets business. Along with effective verbal communication and presentation skills, you’ll have proven relationship building and stakeholder management skills and experience working with and influencing leaders at senior levels.

You’ll have experience leading teams and managing the full learning lifecycle strategically, including, learning effectiveness assessment approaches and data analytics. You’ll also have broad and comprehensive experience in regulatory compliance and investment banking risk mitigation as well as knowledge of how to interpret, apply, and present regulations and policy clearly.

As well as this, you’ll demonstrate:

  • Experience of developing learning and development strategies in a complex business, using strategy as a risk mitigation tool and to understand behaviour and culture change processes and associated challenges
  • Knowledge and understanding of behavioural and cultural change and the ability to analyse, understand, and draw sound conclusions from a wide range of sources and information including MI
  • Expert knowledge of applying learning and development theories, models, and practices particularly relating to regulatory learning
  • Good knowledge and an understanding of the risk and compliance operating environment, associated policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Critical thinking and the ability to, ability to flex to work at both a strategic and operational level
