Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Location: Liverpool

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver technology programs and projects within a large financial services organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multi-year technology initiatives and will excel in stakeholder management at all levels, including interactions with CIOs and functional technology heads.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Delivery:
  • Oversee the delivery of medium-scale, multi-year technology programs, managing a diverse team of 50+ delivery staff across technology and functional areas.
  • Support Programme Directors in establishing governance and controls to ensure successful delivery across sub-projects and programs.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Engage with senior management, including CIOs and functional heads, to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to coding standards and implementation of best practices.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and review technical documentation to ensure compliance and process improvement.
  1. Project Strategy:
  • Shape the overall project strategy, working closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project schedules to ensure timely delivery in accordance with defined quality standards.
  1. Technical Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with development teams and on-site engineers to understand technical requirements and address technical issues effectively.
  • Facilitate discussions between technical and functional teams to resolve challenges and promote seamless integration.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and flag potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies or contingency plans as necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Primary Skills:
  • Strong project management skills, with expertise in applications (APPS) and stakeholder management.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience managing change across applications, infrastructure, and operating models within technology.
  • Familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies, including waterfall and SAFe.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Proven ability to manage and lead diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
