Finance Manager

Harlyn Solutions is an engineering-led transporting company specialising in moving complex and unique cargo. Since launching in 2020, Harlyn Solutions has scaled quickly to a team of 20+ and is now looking forward to welcome its first finance lead to its team.
This person would be responsible for the business's finance and accounting functions and would be required to support the management and project management teams with up-to-date financial information and analysis.
The role would suit a young finance leader keen to develop their skills along with the growth of the business to move onward to the role of CFO over time.
The role is office-based, supported by a team well versed in strategy and running of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- The focus point for all Xero queries and use of the system company-wide.
- Assist the management team in maintaining effective financial controls, governance and systems.
- Reviewing and maintaining operational processes and procedures.
- Implementation of new systems and processes in line with statutory requirements.
- Drive the continuous improvement approach across the full range of finance processes and capabilities.
- Ensure accurate financial records are maintained in line with legislative and accounting policy, aiming for live figures to always be available.
- Deal with Bankers to seek Bind and performance bonds as well as credit and savings rates .
- Deal with currency hedging and exchanges
- Manage the finances for the multiple group companies across multiple juristictions.
- Prepare the monthly management account information and ensure end of month is delivered accurately and on time.
- Preparation and reporting of project reports and individual project P&Ls reported to management and the project managers.
- Manage Government reporting for VAT, EC Sales, Nova and Inward Process in a timely manner.
- Support the year-end statutory audit process, including preparation of reconciliations, collating evidence and documentation, as well as liaising with auditors to resolve audit queries.
- Analyse project expenditure and communicate this to project managers.
- Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast-setting process.
- Collaborate with senior managers and heads of departments to provide support and advice on a range of financial, non-financial and performance areas.
- Preparation of targeted financial and commercial analysis, along with KPI dashboard development.

Qualifications and expertise
· Qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA or ICAEW
· Circa 4 year of experience or higher
· Previous experience across the above job description
· Xero expert
· Excellent time management and IT skills
· Strong Communicator and presenter
· Project Management experience
· Management of teams of people
· Ability to hold relationships
· Contractual understanding
· Experience working with banks and FX
· Understanding of one of our sectors
· Clean Driving License
