​The Role

The Licensing Specialist will report directly to the Presales Manager and will be supporting our ambitions to develop and grow our Microsoft CSP and Services business.

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for driving sales of Microsoft solutions to our existing and new customers. This role involves understanding the complex needs of business customers, providing expert knowledge on Microsoft licensing options, and crafting tailored solutions that align with customer objectives and provide value to our customers.

The Specialist will work alongside our vendor and Presales teams to support our sellers in cloud conversations and align with our overall strategy and focus areas set out by the CTO office.


With a track record in a business-to-business environment, we are looking for an individual who has the attitude and aptitude to demonstrate excellence in the following areas of responsibility:


What you will be doing?


  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Microsoft licensing programs, products, and services.
  • Engage with customers to assess their software needs and provide licensing solutions that meet their business goals.
  • Build and manage relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Microsoft products.
  • Stay current with Microsoft product updates, licensing changes, and industry trends to serve as a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Deliver presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition of Microsoft licensing solutions.
  • Be responsible for renewals within our CSP business.
  • Act as a champion within Microsoft, actively promoting CAE's plans and credentials and ensuring joint successes are effectively communicated.
  • Help develop a growth plan for Microsoft Cloud Solution sales.
  • Rolling out and maintaining training and enablement programmes, tracking, and reporting progress.
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Working closely with Technical Strategy owners to help define and implement CAE's plans.

What is needed?

  • Experience in a similar role, an IT background (Vendor, distributor or reseller) working within a partner environment.
  • Be a confident self-starter, able to work to own initiative and to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise multiple demands while ensuring both CAE and partner needs are met.
  • Comfortable presenting at all levels (internal and external)
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships internally with colleagues/departments and external partnerships.
  • Have a proactive approach and a real 'can do' attitude.
  • Adaptable to change and able to take ownership of challenges.
  • Understanding of Microsoft licensing
  • Be an independent thinker but also be able to share company values.
