Customs Administrator

DP World are currently recruiting for a Customs Administrator to join our fast paced Technology customer operation based in Hinckley. This role will see you provide a fast paced highly accurate and time critical Administration service to ensure our Operations function can run smoothly and service to our customer is efficient. This role will be a 5 day a week office based role with the expectation to work a shift pattern including 3 weeks of 9-5 and 1 week of 4pm-11pm.
About The Role
- Receive pre-advice and shipping documents from carriers, create system references in WMS (warehouse management system) by entering all relevant shipment details.
- Supply clearance instructions to agents, ensure all paperwork is in order and follow through and chase any incorrect or missing paperwork.
- Check customs entries and update internal files with the required details.
- Transfer relevant details through set up templates to the Customs system.
- Prepare the necessary Customs documents for import and export.
- Check stock levels and resolve discrepancies between WMS and Customs system.
- Ensure all import and export activities comply with relevant customs regulations and laws, including accurate classification of goods and correct documentation.
- Direct communication required with customer, transport agents and customs brokers
- Utise Ms Excel to effectively enter data into cells and complete reconciliations of records using look ups and pivot tables
Skills You Will Bring
- Highly accurate individual with exposure of working in fast paced business environments
- Able to maintain accuracy and focus during periods of high pressure
- Competent user of Ms Office applications including Excel (pivots/look ups)
- Strong communicator able to liaise with stakeholders of all levels
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
