The Role

Wild Idol is an exciting new premium brand in the fast-growing no-and-low alcohol sector. As a start-up with substantial growth plans, the company is looking to appoint a full-time Head of Marketing to direct the global brand and marketing strategy and manage the implementation of marketing initiatives across multiple channels to drive global brand awareness, elevate the brand to the next level, and support commercial sales targets and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver a comprehensive annual B2B and B2C marketing and communications strategy, programmes, and campaigns across traditional and digital channels – and in key markets (UK and Middle East currently – US to follow).
  • Oversee the execution and implementation of all marketing initiatives, campaigns and activations across all key markets and channels, in alignment with the broader business strategy.
  • Set and manage the annual marketing budget and measuring the impact of marketing activities against a pre-defined set of KPIs.
  • Day-to-day communication with the sales team, supporting them with marketing tools to allow them to increase brand visibility with their accounts and prospects.
  • Manage and support key external agencies including PR, web, creative/design, and performance media – and develop strategic briefs anchored on yearly brand plans and commercial goals.
  • Develop and deliver brand assets including packaging, bottle branding and POS materials to maximise brand exposure and consumer engagement opportunities.
  • Work with the Trade Marketing Manager on the development of the trade advocacy programme, collaborations with Brand Ambassadors, and to ensure that on premise marketing opportunities within the key accounts are optimised and executed.
  • To scope out a detailed trade marketing plan for the HORECA channel and oversee it’s execution within key regional and national accounts.
  • Identify competitor activity, market trends and conditions, and consumer insights, and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Lead content creation and content strategy (e.g. photo shoots, video content, ad creation) from concept to completion, and the implementation across all marketing channels.
  • Management of Wild Idol’s social media channels (in collaboration with Social Media Manager) and sign off on all social media content plans and content.
  • Manage the website, CRM, and e-commerce platform, working with external agencies to ensure the upkeep and continuous improvement of the website and its content.
  • Define trade and consumer PR strategy and work with external agency on targeted PR activity to maximise seasonal brand and purchasing opportunities, secure endorsement, and build credibility.
  • Lead the strategy and manage the implementation for events, brand partnerships, activations and sponsorships – from coordinating in-store retail sampling to overseeing full-scale event management for pop-ups and live activations.
  • Develop and execute in-store shopper marketing activations for premium retail and travel retail, working closely with the Head of Planning & Operations for timely stock planning and supply.
  • Produce marketing reports and summaries for board meetings and general board communications.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience


  • 10+ years of brand marketing experience, preferably in the luxury consumer goods, wines and spirits, or food industries.
  • Experience in all core marketing disciplines – i.e. strategy, creative and design, copywriting, events, PR, production, social media, brand partnerships, advertising, sponsorship etc.
  • Understanding of brand and marketing strategy development in a commercial context.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels and how best to utilise these platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, work autonomously, and have a “roll-up your sleeves” mentality.
  • Strong organisational skills and creative thinking, with a detailed eye for execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows programmes and Adobe suite.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
