Location: York, UK | Reports to: Head of Sales – Public Sector | Team size: 8 | Visa Requirements: Valid working visa for the UK | Languages required: Fluent/professional level English, spoken and written


As our new Key Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to foster and develop connections with various public sector organisations. Your role will involve identifying and assessing potential opportunities for revenue expansion and service enhancement for both your clients and Crayon UK. Predominately, you will focus on cultivating new business opportunities through our public sector frameworks.


Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Development of customer portfolio
  • Management and development of a customer contact base, building relationships with C-level executives while driving the sales of our service and vendor offerings
  • Creating and executing customer retention strategy
  • Up-selling, cross-selling, and additional sales for Crayon's services and offerings
  • Close cooperation with the Presales team and Account team to build an account plan


Your Competencies:

  • 2+ years’ experience in public sector, coupled with commercial training and a solid grasp of our services with sound knowledge of the public sector market and their relevant frameworks
  • Familiarity or experience in multi-cloud environments, particularly Azure and AWS, and with Microsoft or other leading software licensing vendors
  • Existing network within the public sector ecosystem is highly regarded
  • Experience selling software and services

  • Independent, results- and customer-oriented, with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work with deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of dealing with stakeholders at all levels, from technical to CXO
  • Have a “big picture” mindset, able to collect insights from different sources that will translate to possible customer business needs
