The Role
This is a new role designed to harness and drive their success in sales of commercial foodservice equipment to public sector catering customers, including education, healthcare, government and defence.
- National role selling to customers across the public sector
- Enhancing existing data with your own research to map out the customer landscape
- Approaching potential customers and building strong professional relationships
- Establishing the key influencers and decision-makers of equipment purchasing in the catering department
- Maintaining up-to-date records of equipment purchasing cycles and ensuring that clients are visited ahead of their next purchasing cycle
- Working closely with customers to understand their operation, the challenges they face, advise and support on equipment training, menu planning, recipe development etc.
- Liaise closely with colleagues in sales, marketing, product development and management
- Preparing and submitting proposals and bids for upcoming tenders
- Represent the business at key industry events, exhibitions and within trade associations
- Be the key contact for your customers and respond quickly and comprehensively to any queries or requirements.
The person
We are looking for an experienced field sales professional who has experience of selling to the public sector. You could be selling catering equipment currently, or another product or service.
- Proven sales experience, with a strong record of successful deal completions into Public Sector Clients preferably the NHS and local authority
- Food or chef experience is seen as a bonus
- A passion for delivering customer excellence.
- You will have previous experience of conversing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Communication, negotiation, and person skills.
- Able to take strategic plans and turn into action.
- Understanding of the wider economic environment.
- Analytical and engaging. Can deliver impactful and professional presentations to all key stake holders.
- Good level of understanding of competitors
- Ability to travel with overnight stays as role is on a national basis
