The Role

Sarah Chapman is seeking a highly skilled and creative Art Director & Print Design Lead to join our team. This pivotal role involves leading the creative direction and execution of design projects from concept through to production. The ideal candidate will have a visionary approach to art direction, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of print production processes. The successful candidate will create visually compelling and effective campaigns that align with our brand identity and marketing objectives while overseeing the execution of all print assets & print production.


Key Responsibilities:


Art Direction

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Design Manager to align visual direction with broader brand strategies and marketing goals.
  • Lead the creative vision for all campaigns, ensuring that designs not only meet functional needs but also elevate the brand's aesthetic and emotional resonance.
  • Oversee the conceptual development of all campaigns, guiding the creative team in executing innovative and cohesive visual narratives that seamlessly integrate print and digital assets.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to designers and external creative partners to ensure alignment with brand standards and project objectives.


Design and Development of Print Assets

Artwork Creation

  • Develop original artworks and illustrations for various print applications, maintaining a high standard of creativity and technical proficiency.

Point of Sale (POS) Material

  • Create eye-catching POS materials, including displays, posters, shelf talkers, and banners, to enhance in-store brand presence and drive sales.
  • Design promotional materials for use in retail environments, ensuring consistency with overall brand messaging.

Press Materials

  • Design and produce press kits, media invitations, and other printed materials for PR events and media outreach. Ensure all press materials effectively communicate the brand’s story and product benefits.

Packaging

  • Design innovative and visually appealing packaging for a wide range of products, ensuring functionality and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product development and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Develop mock-ups and prototypes to present packaging concepts to stakeholders.


Brand Consistency

  • Ensure all print materials align with Sarah Chapman’s brand guidelines and aesthetic.
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel across all printed collateral.

Project Management

  • Work closely with the marketing, creative, product development and clinic teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and printers to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of printed materials.

Quality Control

  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks of all print materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • Oversee print production processes to ensure the final products meet the desired quality standards.

Innovation and Trends

  • Stay updated on industry trends, printing techniques, and materials to continually enhance the quality and innovation of print designs and our campaign concepts
  • Experiment with new design ideas and techniques to keep the brand's print materials fresh and engaging.


REQUIREMENTS


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading art direction for print and/or integrated campaigns.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in design, ideally in luxury, clinical-led skincare, beauty and / or fashion or technology.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in art direction, packaging, printed materials, and other relevant design work.
  • In-depth knowledge of print production processes and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Experience with digital tools (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a plus.
  • Conceptual and creatively strong.
  • Excellent eye for detail, typography, and colour.
