The opportunity:

We are looking for a skilled and driven HR & Payroll Administrator to join our Human Resources Team, in this role you will be responsible for processing UK Payroll and Pension Scheme across the business. You will enter employee data onto a payroll system. process wages, overtime, deductions, and adjustments. Calculate statutory contributions like Pensions and National Insurance.


In additional you will support the Human Resources team to promote HR and payroll support service to the business, ensuring that high standards are adopted within all aspects of HR Administration throughout the employee lifecycle.


The role will report to our HR Director and be joining a team of 3 (HR Coordinator, HR Advisor & Head of L&D)


What are key duties of the role?

UK Payroll

  • Be a point of contact for payroll queries
  • Collate and process monthly payroll adjustments providing accurate data to payroll provider for the UK
  • Responsible for payroll records and monthly payroll reconciliation, escalating and resolving problems with payroll provider.
  • Responsible for the accurate calculation of various types of pay or deductions such as holiday pay, family leave pay, pension contributions, overtime, bonuses, and salary sacrifice deductions.
  • Input and process accurate and timely monthly UK payroll in line with legal compliance and best practice.
  • Manage the administration of UK pension scheme, including starters, leavers, cyclical re-enrolment, and monthly contribution uploads to provider.
  • Accurately balance and approve payroll reports received from provider and agree sign off with Financial Controller, ensuring all deadlines are met.

HR Administration

  • Oversee the maintenance of the T&A system, updating weekly time and attendance records on employee working hours, monitoring clocking in records, monitoring working hours missed clocking, lateness, excessive working hours across UK &HK teams.
  • Collate and organise information and reports in relation to health conditions across the business annually.
  • Support HR team with monitoring the HR inboxes and respond in a timely manner to all HR queries within role remit
  • Administer HR documentation
  • Monitor and maintain HR Information system
  • Support in updating policy documents and handbooks in line with current legislation & best practice


What we need you to bring to the team:

  • 1-2 Experience in Payroll Processing
  • Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong Numerical skills
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll best practices
  • Administrative skills including, report and letter writing
  • Ability to use HR information systems including inputting accurate data
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of key employment legislation including GDPR
  • Understanding Payroll processes and legislation
  • Experience working with a Managed Payroll Provider (Experience with provider ‘Moorepay’ will be beneficial)
