Job Purpose:


We are seeking a skilled Automation Specialist with expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power Apps, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a talent in designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions that streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Each Team Member is expected to act as an internal consultant and drive a strong continuous improvement culture across the business on any process/system improvements and changes.


The role will include but is not limited to:


Design and Development:

  • Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows to automate repetitive tasks and integrate various systems.
  • Design, build, and customise Power Apps to meet business requirements and improve user experience.


Integration and Deployment:

  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft services like SharePoint, Teams, and Dynamics 365.
  • Work with APIs and data connectors to integrate third-party applications and services into Power Platform solutions.
  • Deploy and configure Power Apps and Power Automate solutions in production environments.


Maintenance and Support:

  • Monitor and maintain existing automation solutions to ensure their ongoing performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement fixes to minimise downtime and improve solution efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and stakeholders, ensuring smooth operation of the automated processes.


Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, continuous improvement specialists and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical insights.
  • Document workflows, processes, and custom code to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.
  • Train team members and end-users on the use of Power Platform solutions.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to existing solutions based on Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's best practices in automation.


Candidate Profile:


Experience:

  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with other Microsoft services (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365) and third-party applications.
  • Working knowledge of development principles.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in creating and managing Power Automate flows (cloud and desktop).
  • Expertise in building Power Apps (canvas and model-driven apps) with customizations.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for data visualisation (optional).
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and data integration techniques.
  • Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance within the Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of Python/JavaScript or other programming languages to enhance automation capabilities (optional)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get involved in anything – this can include quickly learning a new system/skill to help your teammates, or helping a different team implement something fast… every day is different

Hours and Days:


  • 37.5 hours per week between 09:00 and 17:15 Monday to Friday


Location:


  • Lifeplus House, Little End Road, St Neots, PE19 8JH
  • Hybrid Working – 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday) with flexibility dependent on business needs
