The Small Consultancy is an in-house recruitment support to PE and VC backed scale ups, start ups and carve outs.

We are looking for a freelance Business Development Manager to join our expanding team and take responsibility for Sales activity across The Small Consultancy’s current reach.


This role is ideal for a freelance BDM with experience in the recruitment sector - and if you have experience of the Private Equity world then even better


About us:

We provide in-house recruitment support to companies going through periods of growth and change. Whether our clients need support 2 days a week or 2 days a month, we provide a dedicated in-house recruiter to deliver the end-to-end recruitment process. From dealing with an effective brand and recruitment strategy to sourcing talent; We understand how to get the right talent in place to meet growth targets and funding cycles.


About you:

Ideally, you will have a previous experience working in a Recruitment environment, where you have understanding of the requirements of our customer base. This could be as a Business Development Manager, 360, or 180 recruitment role.


Working within this environment means no two days are the same so we are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and can adapt easily to a fast paced environment.

● Knowledge of Sales Navigator is a must

About the role:

As Business Development Manager, you will:

● Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the company's customer base

● Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth

● Build and maintain strong relationships with our target market

● Utilise our database to target potential clients

● Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends

● Collaborate with the Marketing team to achieve sales targets


We have very ambitious plans for the business and its growth so we would love you to be part of this journey.


All TSC consultants are self-employed, so you would ideally be set up as a freelancer or Ltd company.


We also all work remotely, but we would like you to be able to access London easily to attend events and meet clients, if needed, etc.


Although this is a commission only role, we are open to discuss what you want that structure to look like and mutually agree a beneficial package together.
