Transport and Logistics Manager

Gaucho, part of Rare Restaurants are looking for someone to take on the role of Transport & Logistics Manager. As Transport & Logistics Manager, you will oversee the management and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles used for deliveries, events and be fully responsible for our storage facilities. You will be required to have a C1 License and a CPC Card, have experience in transporting large trailers and working flexibly to events and business needs. This role is based in London and requires long distance driving around the UK with some overnight stays as business needs dictate.

  • Fleet Management Experience
  • Events Experience
  • Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting transport vehicles, ensuring they are always legal and road safe with relevant logging of vehicle checks
  • Organising and maintaining the efficiency of the entire fleet of vehicles to company events and needs
  • Full accountability of arranging routine maintenance of vehicles
  • Communicating with vehicle drivers, ensuring that they are kept up to date with relevant training and/or qualifications
  • Organising and scheduling transport staff shifts
  • Organising of delivery schedules to restaurants and events teams
  • Conducting risk assessments of transport systems
  • Organising training and development days for transport staff
  • Fully accountable for recording of mileage of the Fleet of vehicles
  • Fully responsible for any damages to vehicles and the repairing of vehicles in the fleet through company vehicle maintenance
  • Ensures delivery of product and or equipment is done safely and is recorded in the condition of delivery
  • Vehicle payloads notifications are correct to all fleet vehicles
  • Height indicators are fitted and correct to all fleet vehicles
  • You and the other drivers complete and return their driver defect reporting sheets and that the recording of defects is done correctly
  • Fully responsible for vehicles and trailers that are not roadworthy are taken out of service and returned promptly in line with repairs
  • Safety inspections and other statutory testing are carried out within the notified operator licence maintenance intervals
  • Fully accountable to complete and display a maintenance planner, setting preventative maintenance inspection dates at least 6 months in advance and including the MOT and other testing or calibration dates
  • Fully responsible to liaise with maintenance contractors, manufacturers, hire companies and dealers, as might be appropriate and that certain vehicles and trailers are serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
  • To ensure Vehicles and towed equipment are available for safety inspections, service, repair and statutory testing
  • Ensure you and any of the drivers follow drivers hours rules
  • To be fully responsible for yourself and other drivers and mobile workers take the right number of breaks and periods of daily and weekly rest based on the relevant regulations which apply
  • To be fully accountable for you and other drivers are recording their duty, driving time and rest breaks on the appropriate equipment or in drivers hours books and their records are being handed back for inspection as required
  • To take full responsibility for storage facilities cleanliness, organisation and inventory. Ensuring anything taken or removed is fully recorded and documented
