Programme Manager - £53,000 + benefits - 18m FTC

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Manager to join our charity organization, focusing on contracts within our publishing services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating the commercial viability of these contracts and identifying opportunities for growth. You will be responsible for analysing current client contracts, forecasting the impact of potential business growth, and ensuring that operational capacity aligns with commercial objectives. This role is ideal for someone with experience in print, procurement, or financial services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate existing contracts in the publishing sector, assessing their commercial viability and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to determine the impact of increased business levels on staffing, resources, and operational capabilities.
  • Develop strategies for maximizing revenue opportunities within current contracts while ensuring sustainability and alignment with the charity’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all departments, including print, production, and procurement, are equipped to handle potential business growth.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and expectations, aligning contract terms to mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Provide leadership in the contract negotiation process, ensuring transparency and accountability in all transactions.
  • Analyse and report on financial performance, margins, and resource allocation associated with publishing contracts.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within contract management, procurement, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with charity policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices related to publishing contracts.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new business opportunities and strategies.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within the print, procurement, or financial services sectors.
  • Strong understanding of contract management, including financial analysis, commercial forecasting, and negotiation.
  • Experience in publishing or print services is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess the commercial impact of changes and business growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of procurement processes, operational capacity planning, and resource management.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Experience working with non-profit or charity organizations.
  • Background in financial analysis or contract negotiation.
