About the team:
Within Corporate & Investment Banking activities, Global Markets (“MARK”) is a fully integrated multi-asset class, multi-product platform focusing on delivering high quality investment and risk management solutions to asset managers, pension funds, private banks, banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign funds and retail network distributors around the world.
Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Derivatives Corporate Sales for Western Europe ( “FIC/COR”) sits within MARK and covers the major European corporates for risk advisory using Foreign Exchange Cash and Derivatives, Structured and Hybrid Products, Interest Rate Derivatives, Emerging Local Markets and Liquidity Management. The Team focuses both on risk management understanding and advice for the corporate clients as well as execution of the transactions.
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
- Prepare tailored analysis for corporate clients focusing on FX and interest rate risk management requiring good command of corporate finance considerations and market inputs
- Suggest solutions to manage market risks which are innovative and best adapted to clients’ needs factoring in current market conditions
- Follow market trends and strategic moves for corporate clients across sectors to establish trends and best risk management practices
- Hold meetings with clients to present the analysis performed and pitch any specific ideas which are relevant
- Work closely with corporate finance teams (AFG, DCM, M&A, Coverage) as well as structurers, research and trading to ensure that all client corporate needs are covered and the appropriate hedging solutions are proposed
- Work with other internal stakeholders not only to understand the clients’ needs better, but also to help contribute to the overall relationship
- Share information on market intelligence with other team members in the UK and abroad
- Work on specific one-off transactions (M&A, new investments etc) with senior members of the team and develop impact with internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Act as an FX and Interest Rate Risk Advisory Sales person in the UK in MARK/FIC/COR London
- Prepare bespoke analysis on how to best manage corporate clients’ market risks on the regions covered (Western Europe and Middle East excluding France)
- Work with others internally, including corporate finance teams, Sales, trading financial engineers, Research team, in order to come up with solutions best tailored to their needs
- Present to clients the work performed via pitches / calls / in-person meetings alongside local sales coverage
- Offer full transparency to the client with regards to the appropriate or proposed solution, working with the adequate product specialist if required
- Liaise with relationship managers, DCM, SG financing products lines, all other necessary SG departments to address the client’s needs on risk management issues
Maintain up to date intelligence on corporate finance and market initiatives and client demands
Establish sectorial trends and follow risk management practices in the key sectors
Work on one-off transactions to propose hedging solutions to address potentially transforming strategic situations (M&A, equity / debt issuance, capex etc.)
Work on development of ESG derivatives and new ideas with an innovative angle
Ensure compliance with sales procedures and guidelines including Sales Handbook and regular training as applicable to the regulatory requirements
PROFILE REQUIRED
- Excellent mathematical skills – an ability to understand both complex mathematical concepts, but also perform mental arithmetic quickly and accurately
- Attention to detail – an ability to work both quickly and accurately
- Communication skills – ability to interact effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders
- Teamwork – a strong collaborative approach

- IT skills – excellent PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills.
