A Senior Wastewater Network Modeller is needed for a global engineering organisation-based UK wide who are looking to employ a Wastewater Modeller to support on industry-leading projects across the UK & Ireland to improve water quality and protect the environment.


As a Wastewater Modeller, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and calibrate hydraulic models of wastewater networks using industry-standard software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM, SewerGEMS).
  • Perform complex analyses to simulate various operational scenarios and predict network performance under different conditions.
  • Identify and evaluate network deficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct capacity assessments and identify potential risks to inform maintenance and investment planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and planners, to integrate modelling outcomes into broader project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior modellers and engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in wastewater network modelling and management.
  • Support the development of long-term strategic plans for wastewater infrastructure investment and improvement.
  • Participate in client meetings, workshops, and site visits to gather data, understand project requirements, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies to continually enhance modelling capabilities and project outcomes.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient and successful completion of modelling tasks.


Experience required for the Wastewater Modeller position:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or another relevant subject
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience applying technical skills to the water industry
  • Proficiency in the use of InfoWorks ICM
  • Experience of working in an urban drainage environment
  • Membership to relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM (Bonus)
