Role Summary:

Signet are seeking a proactive and driven Financial Accounts Manager to lead the modernization and streamlining of our clients financial accounts function. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing multinational organization backed by private equity (PE). Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will manage a small team, oversee the balance sheet, and play a pivotal role in enhancing financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to take ownership of the month-end schedule and drive improvements in the timeliness and accuracy of financial data, providing key insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and ensure the timely completion of all month-end activities for the financial accounts team in line with group financial reporting deadlines.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are reconciled accurately and in a timely manner, and standardizing the group chart of accounts.
  • Provide enhanced financial analysis and variance reporting against budgets and prior year figures.
  • Enable your team to provide business partner support and insightful reporting to department heads and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the production and analysis of the monthly payroll journal, acting as a key link between Finance and the People team on payroll-related matters.
  • Build cross-departmental relationships to ensure accurate and complete information flows into the finance function.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register, ensuring accuracy through regular communication with stakeholders.
  • Accurately calculate and summarize commission figures for both the Sales and Finance teams.
  • Oversee VAT reconciliations for relevant entities.
  • Assist with the group budgeting process and provide support during group budgeting cycles.
  • Support special projects as directed by the Financial Controller or Finance Director.
  • Liaise with auditors during year-end, producing all necessary year-end schedules.
  • Complete National Statistics returns in a timely and accurate manner.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong drive to improve financial systems and processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under your own initiative and bring forward innovative ideas.
  • Ability to dive into the detail while maintaining a high-level perspective to effectively solve problems.
  • Proven experience managing, supporting, and developing a small finance team.
  • Strong organizational skills, enabling the team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, balanced with an ability to assess the materiality of transactions.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets effectively.
