Here at EMIS we have a 9-month day rate contract opportunity for an experienced Technical Cyber Security Project Manager to join our highly capable and talented Cyber Security team.


As we go through a period of growth and change, you will be pivotal in the overall planning, co-ordination and implementation of Security projects, tools and technology. You will be working closely with the Security leadership teams at EMIS and with our parent group (Optum/UHG) to deliver integration goals on a wide variety of IT and cyber security capabilities across a complex and fast evolving environment.


We need you to demonstrate your ability to deliver, implement and project manage security projects and tooling within a matrixed environment.


Please note this is outside IR35 and whilst this is a remote working position, there will be a requirement to meet ad-hoc at out collaborative hubs in Leeds.


What you’ll do


As a Technical Cyber Security Project Manager, you will be responsible for a holistic understanding of our security needs. Utilising your previous experience of security tooling, you will support the delivery of security controls by maintaining strong working relationships across the business.


You will work with our security, technologist and delivery leadership teams in a matrixed environment to understand the expectations of our security operating model by gathering requirements and conducting discovery meetings.


Other key responsibilities:

  • Utilising the SDLC framework for range of security technologies including but not restricted to Delinea, Proofpoint, AttackIQ, Bloodhound, SIEM tools.
  • Closely working with a mix of skilled technical SME’s and project staff to build an effective delivery focused team.
  • Participate in steering group meetings, and tracking and managing project data such as milestones, budgets, risks, and mitigation plans.


Who you’ll be


You will be a proven and seasoned Technical Cyber Security professional with the ability to create and manage project control artefacts whilst presenting clear status updates. With expert knowledge of best practice security methodologies and standards, you will have previous exposure to delivering systems and security design, patterns and decisions at pace.


Cliche as it sounds, collaboration is essential. You will be able to evidence success of building trusted and credible relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and prioritise requirements across multiple workstreams.


We’re looking for you to have exposure working within a similar cyber security project management role utilising modern technology security practices around services, infrastructure, hosting and platforms.


Technical skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include;

  • Security tool monitoring – Tuning, Identifying, automating responses, detect & respond to security threats.
  • Identify & assess security risk, analyse data, develop & implement security strategies.
  • Experience working with APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Working knowledge of performing project risk assessments.
  • Experience in performing Information Security technical risk assessments.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative work ethic, partnering with team members to ensure that project results are delivered efficiently. Bring a structured approach to project execution and foster accountability among team members for their responsibilities.
