My client is a consumer favourite and one you will definitely know and love They are looking for an Innovation Controller to expand their portfolio. I'm looking for a technical foodie


Role Overview:

As the Innovation Controller you will lead the development and execution. This involves identifying market trends, conceptualizing new products, and overseeing the product development process from ideation to launch. Your goal is to ensure our products consistently exceed customer expectations and drive brand growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis and Trend Identification:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, consumer needs, and opportunities within the everyday dessert category.
  • Analyze competitor products and market positioning to inform product development strategies.
  • Product Development and Innovation:
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate innovative product ideas.
  • Develop and refine product concepts, ensuring alignment with brand vision and customer preferences.
  • Oversee the creation of prototypes, conduct taste tests, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage the end-to-end product development process, including concept validation, recipe formulation, packaging design, and production scaling.
  • Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and production teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to achieve project goals.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure all new products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to address any product issues or improvements.
  • Consumer Engagement:
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with consumers and gather insights on product performance and satisfaction.
  • Utilize consumer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation in the everyday dessert line.
  • Financial Performance:
  • Work with the finance team to establish pricing strategies that balance profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Monitor product performance metrics and contribute to achieving sales and profitability targets.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in product development, innovation, or related roles within the food industry
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful product launches.
  • Excellent understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and food industry dynamics.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to translate consumer insights into innovative product concepts.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for food and a keen eye for detail and quality.
