The Opportunity:
The role of Head of NPD will be to drive the entire physical product development process, from concept to commercialisation, ensuring our products exceed market expectations and alignwith our brand goals. With a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, you'll collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex customer and business challenges.
Experience:
- Market Research and Consumer Insights - The ability to conduct market research and gather consumer insights is critical for understanding customer needs and preferences.
- Product Development Expertise - Experience in managing the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch, in cosmetic and/ or pharmaceutical industry
- Project Management - Effective project management skills are necessary to ensure that new product development projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality Control and Assurance - Ensuring that skincare products meet high-quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements is vital to maintain brand reputation and customer trust.
- Technical Knowledge - A deep understanding of skincare formulations, ingredients, and the latest trends in the skincare industry is a plus.
Skills:
- Collaborative approach - ability to build excellent relationships and work productively cross-functionally.
- Visionary - we are ambitious, you must be able to think creatively and come up with unique skincare product ideas to keep us ahead in a competitive market.
- Clinical and Compliance Knowledge - you need to have a solid understanding of clinical and compliance trials in both cosmetic and ideally, broader pharmaceutical environments, ensuring that products meet regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Inspiring Leadership - inspiring and leading cross-functional teams to collaborate effectively on new product initiatives.
- Risk Management - you will need to manage risk within the R&D process to ensure that products are shipped quickly without compromising on quality or regulatory compliance, while taking sensible financial risks to expedite product launches.
- Strategic mindset - you need to have the ability and desire to develop a clear NPD strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals. This involves setting priorities, making resource allocation decisions, and defining timelines.
- Commercial focus - Understanding the financial aspects of product development, including budgeting and cost analysis, while identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate them.
