We are looking for a highly capable and proactive market analyst to join our global research team, focusing on markets in Southern Africa and Southern/Central Europe. The role is based out of IWSR's London office, with hybrid working.

Overall Purpose of Role:
As a market analyst/country researcher you will be responsible for interviewing (and visiting in person when possible) our contacts in a number of markets to compile accurate data and insights for our annual report series. In addition, you will be responsible for researching data and providing insights on key growth areas of the market such as ecommerce and no and low alcohol, for our annually updated strategic studies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Travel (when possible) to selected markets in Southern Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Zambia) and Southern/Central Europe to meet distributors and producers and to produce a detailed report on trends in consumption of alcoholic drinks. Where travel is not possible, meetings are to be conducted via conference call.
Update other reports relating to the markets throughout the year, including strategic studies on ecommerce, no/low alcohol and the RTD market.
Education, Experience, and Competencies Required:
Languages: fluency in English and ideally, Portuguese.
Travel experience, particularly in Africa, a significant advantage.
Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of quantitative data
Excellent communication skills, and ability to interview and discuss market trends with industry contacts.
Team player: able to work effectively within a small high growth company
Highly organised, able to manage your time efficiently while working on multiple projects simultaneously, and know how to coordinate and prioritise important tasks
Clear thinker with proven ability to articulate complex issues into simple messages
Full, clean driving licence
Excellent IT skills – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Qualifications to degree level
A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, informal and friendly environment
