As a Receptionist at Bardo, you will be the first point of contact for our esteemed guests. Your primary responsibility is to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, assist with reservations, and ensure a smooth flow of guest services. You will play a vital role in creating a memorable dining experience.

What we are looking for


  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, welcoming demeanour.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using reservation software or systems.
  • Knowledge of the restaurant's offerings, including menus and special events.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations gracefully.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Guest Greeting: Welcome and greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanour, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable.


  • Reservation Management: Manage guest reservations, whether received via phone, email, or in-person, and maintain an accurate reservation book or digital system.


  • Seating Coordination: Coordinate with the restaurant staff to ensure smooth seating, considering table availability and guest preferences.


  • Guest Inquiries: Provide information about the restaurant, menus, special events, and any other guest queries in a knowledgeable and informative manner.


  • Phone Etiquette: Answer phone calls, take messages, and assist callers with inquiries regarding reservations, directions, and general restaurant information.


  • Waiting Area Management: Oversee the waiting area, ensuring guests are comfortable and informed about wait times if necessary.


  • Reservation Confirmations: Contact guests to confirm reservations and offer any additional assistance, such as dietary preferences or special requests.


  • Cooperation with Staff: Communicate effectively with the restaurant manager, waitstaff, and kitchen team to coordinate reservations and provide an efficient dining experience.


  • Organisation: Maintain a clean and organised reception area, including keeping brochures, menus, and promotional materials up to date.


  • Conflict Resolution: Address guest concerns or issues professionally and promptly, seeking to resolve them to the guest's satisfaction.


  • Cash Handling: Handle payments for private dining events, deposits, and gift certificate sales, maintaining a secure cash drawer.


  • Guest Records: Keep guest records confidential, including contact details, special occasions, and preferences to enhance their future visits.


  • Emergency Procedures: Familiarise yourself with emergency procedures and be prepared to assist in the event of an emergency.
