Overview of the Role


PTS Consulting is looking to recruit an experienced AV Specialist, who has hands on experience with both Audio Visual and Multimedia, to provide professional services across a wide range of projects both internally and to our external client base. This will include the strategic, procurement and implementation stages of projects. You will be required to represent PTS on site with clients and therefore it is essential that you have a professional manner and strong communication skills.


You will be required to take the lead consultant role on multiple projects, working as part of a team who will support you in managing the workload. You will also be required to ensure correct implementation of the team’s objectives and strategies. Due to this, a strong background and industry knowledge of AV/Multimedia projects is essential to this role.


The role will include the preparation and co-ordination of audio-visual design for the development of projects across a broad range of market sectors. It will also require project management skills both during design and implementation phases.


Description of Duties (Audio Visual)

Provide technical expertise to the project teams for relocations and other projects

Take a key role in the development of client strategies

Leading Q&A sessions to establish client requirements

Develop documents and reports in a clear concise manner according to the recognised PTS format and peer review documents written by other members of the AV/Multimedia Team

Development of technical specifications for all AV/Multimedia projects

Provision of mechanical and engineering, architectural and IT information to the professional team on the AV design

Management of appointed contractors through the project delivery, including approving design submittals, site inspections, final commissioning and acceptance and client handover

Overseeing contractor off and on-site testing works and AV system programming

Develop quality assurance processes for managing the implementation phase of AV projects

Ensuring you are up to date with current and future AV technologies

Researching emerging technologies and understanding future technology trends with regular updates provided to the wider Multimedia/AV team

Consulting with key manufacturers for regular product updates and roadmaps

Exploring technology innovations that could offer PTS and the Multimedia/AV team market leading service differentials


Technical Requirements

Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the design of Audio Visual, Multimedia and Video Conferencing Systems

Possess a strong knowledge of AV standards and good practices across all areas of industry

Have current AV/Multimedia project experience and demonstrable industry experience

Have good relationships with manufacturers and installers of AV/Multimedia Systems

Be able to translate a client’s requirements and produce a comprehensive AV systems design

Be fully aware of installation methods, architectural integration, power, cooling and containment systems that support AV systems

Ability to multitask, working on several projects simultaneously

Possess a good understanding of associated technologies such as Building Management Systems, Room Booking Systems etc. and how these may interface/integrate with AV systems


Corporate Responsibilities

Maintain cognisance of time allowances on projects and maintain commercial efficiency in documentation production

Adhere to all stated company policies, including Health and Safety

Contribute to the ongoing development and betterment of your team and PTS Companies corporately

Ensure all time is accurately recorded and updated weekly in the PTS timesheet system

Ensure that a project audit trail is maintained, and PTS Companies’ integrity is maintained at all times

Ensure that all work is carried out within the parameters of PTS Companies’ standards (Project Life Cycle, Change Management etc.), and in accordance with the Company's BS EN ISO 9001 procedures
