We are looking for a talented Area Sales Manager to help them achieve their sales targets and expand our market presence in the South East of the UK.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to secure unit sales within the assigned geographical area.
  • Sales Targets: Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales objectives, aiming for at least 110% of the assigned targets.
  • Market Expansion: Grow the existing customer base and explore new markets.
  • Profit Maximization: Strive to improve profitability on sold units, ensuring maximum profit margins.
  • Collaborative Work: Work closely with factory staff to discuss special build requests and coordinate customer visits to the factory when necessary.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate customer records and sales forecasts using our central database (SAP/CRM).
  • Competitor Analysis: Supply competitor information and pricing to the marketing department to inform future strategies.
  • Demonstrations and Tenders: Organise and attend product demonstrations for potential customers, identify and manage tender opportunities within your area.
  • Customer Support: Address any quality or support issues by liaising with the relevant departments and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Administrative Duties: Submit accurate quote requests, expense claims, and weekly reports on time.


Person Specification:


  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator at all levels, both within and outside the business.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Time Management: Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage a geographically large area.
  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a field sales role, preferably selling high-value capital equipment and/or finance-related products.
  • Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of mechanical items is desirable.
  • Professional Qualities: Well-spoken, confident, professional, and a team player.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, diligent, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel and stay away from home as required; a clean driving license is essential.
  • Computer Skills: Competent with computer/PC applications.
