We are proud to be partnering with a specialist neurological disease research unit, who are looking for an In Vivo Technical Specialist to join the team and work within an internationally renowned facility, studying a wide range of degenerative neurological diseases.

The institute is a crucial link between early drug discovery and access to clinical research in the field of Neurological Diseases. We are seeking an In Vivo Technical Specialist to join the team on a 3-year fixed-term contract, until March 2027 if the first instance.


The Role

The In Vivo Technical Specialist will be responsible for performing regulated and non-regulated procedures, supporting post-operative care where appropriate including: injections using various routes of administration (including intracranial), minor surgical procedures and taking tissue samples. Due to the nature of the work, possession of a Home Office Personal License is essential.

The Technical Specialist will also be responsible for managing established breeding colonies, setting up of new breeding lines and ensuring the successful of the breeding facility is maintained.


Job Requirements

For the In Vivo Technical Specialist role, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  1. Be a Home Office Personal License holder (essential) with the ability to perform intracranial injections (desirable)
  2. Competent with ASPA
  3. Experience establishing and managing transgenic breeding colonies
  4. Experience of working within a containment level 3 facilities (desirable)
