Objective: Join our team at the Dundee, UK location to spearhead strategies that enhance our supply chain's quality. Your mission will be to elevate supplier standards, aiming for perfection by refining their processes.

Role Overview: Reporting to both the Global Supplier Development & Quality Systems Manager and the Dundee Quality Manager, you will be instrumental in advancing supplier excellence. Your efforts will focus on enhancing supplier quality and delivery, conducting audits, and fostering global process improvements through data analysis, benchmarking, and best practices.

In addition, you will bolster local Quality Assurance initiatives at the Dundee site, contributing to the commitment to high-calibre Quality Assurance across Space, Aerospace, and other sectors.

Responsibilities:

Elevate both external and internal quality performance via continuous improvement initiatives rooted in solid quality management principles.

Collaborate with clients in aerospace, defence, and aviation to address issues and devise solutions.

Craft and execute enhancement plans using DMAIC/LEAN methodologies, targeting supplier KPIs and process capabilities.

Engage in contract reviews and represent the quality perspective in new product launches, ensuring excellence from the outset.

Partner with the global quality assurance team to identify and implement best practices aimed at achieving standardisation and operational excellence.

Lead corrective action initiatives, ensuring comprehensive solutions that prevent issue recurrence.

Support global supplier qualification and problem resolution.

Mentor teams at the site and business unit levels to achieve supplier quality system objectives.

Drive internal and supplier site improvements using Lean and Six Sigma techniques, providing guidance in problem-solving and root cause analysis.

Oversee the submission of PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and other critical documentation for strategic global suppliers.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in quality or a Technical Discipline (IE, EE, ME, QE) or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in Engineering or Quality within a manufacturing environment; aerospace, defence, or space industry experience is a plus.

A track record of success in quality assurance and supplier quality roles.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to independently influence outcomes.

Comprehensive knowledge of QMS Processes and audit procedures; QMS Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification is a plus.

Familiarity with ISO 9000, AS9100D, OSHAS 18000, and ISO 14000 standards.

Experience with customer qualification audits (FAIRs, FARS, PPAP, etc.).

Knowledge of Performance / Process Excellence and Built In Quality models; Lean and 6-sigma certifications are highly valued.

Proficiency in quality management tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, Kaizen, 5S, Statistical Analysis, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Systems, VOC, QFD, Error Proofing, Robust Design, FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams).

Lean and 6-sigma black belt certifications are preferred.

Experience in supplier development and working with Design Teams is desirable.
