Role Overview:

This is a unique and exciting role where you’ll support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our quality control systems and processes. As the Junior Operations Manager for Supply Chain, you will oversee the flow of inbound and outbound goods, manage the procurement and delivery processes, and ensure timely placement and receipt of purchase orders.


This role involves leading quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and assisting with inventory management and QA audits. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to expand the site’s capacity and capabilities in alignment with our growth plans and customer expectations.


This is a high-profile role requiring exceptional organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to perform under pressure. You’ll work closely with the UK Senior team to deliver optimal solutions. You’ll also be client-facing, responsible for fostering excellent relationships within the supply chain function and ensuring world-class customer service.


Given the dynamic nature of the supply chain industry, a positive attitude and the flexibility to meet tight deadlines are crucial. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Supervise inbound and outbound logistics, negotiate with carriers, and coordinate consignments to ensure cost-effectiveness. Manage the placement and delivery of purchase orders for stock and non-stock items. Oversee stock level management and execute replenishment within the plant.
  • Quality Control: Develop and implement QC processes in collaboration with the R&D team, oversee the approval of finished goods, and uphold packaging standards.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with ISO standards and health and safety regulations, and supervise staff during material receiving and dispatch.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, product suppliers, and customers within the supply chain, delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare management reports, analyse statistical data, and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the Operations Manager and R&D team to ensure smooth operations and effective cross-departmental communication.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Lead the setup of quality management manufacturing operations and train the team to achieve manufacturing excellence.


Candidate Experience & Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field – Advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years in the supply chain industry, with expertise in cross-border trade and shipping by sea, land, and air – Highly Desirable.
  • Experience with HMRC and border compliance – Essential.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing settings - Advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and any ERP systems – Highly Desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and processes – Essential.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills – Essential.
  • Certifications in quality management systems (e.g., ISO) – Highly Desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and industry-standard tracking software - Highly Desirable.
  • Experience in building supply/demand and replenishment spreadsheet models - Highly Desirable.
  • Commuting Distance: Able to travel to site, 3-4 x days per week, in Thame, Oxford.
