This dynamic, hands-on role involves managing payment operations, optimising workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating fraud risks, and fostering partnerships with banks and payment providers.


Role Overview


  • Location: London-based, full-time for the initial 6 months, transitioning to a hybrid model (primarily office-based).

Key Responsibilities


  • Process payments across systems (SEPA, SWIFT, FPS), reconcile transactions, and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with FCA, PSD2, AML, and KYC regulations, supporting audit processes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance payment systems and resolve technical issues.
  • Proactively detect and prevent fraud, monitoring risks and implementing mitigations.
  • Establish and manage relationships with banks and payment providers; negotiate contracts.
  • Handle escalated customer payment issues and ensure resolution.
  • Generate detailed payment reports and provide actionable insights for process improvement.


Candidate Requirements


  • Proven experience in payment operations within fintech or a payment institution.
  • In-depth understanding of UK/EU payment systems and FCA regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in working with payment gateways, APIs, and fraud detection systems
