Job purpose:

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Alimak Group UK as a Technical Support Officer for our Façade Access Division.


In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of our cutting-edge systems across a wide range of high-profile sites. You'll be the go-to expert, providing technical guidance to field teams, service coordinators, and clients, and helping us maintain our reputation as a leader in the industry.


This is a full-time permanent role, reporting to our Technical Manager and the role is based in our office in Chelmsford, with travel to client sites, as and when required.


What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Providing Expert Technical Support:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for complex technical issues, offering both hands-on and desk-based support.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults, providing practical solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Take ownership of technical problems, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and effectively.


2. Managing Equipment & Systems:

  • Oversee the maintenance and performance of our façade access systems, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
  • Support system upgrades and new equipment implementations, including training field teams and creating technical documentation.


3. Enhancing Service Delivery:

  • Collaborate with Service Coordinators, Field Engineers, and clients to plan and execute preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, streamline workflows, and implement best practices.


4. Engaging with Clients & Stakeholders:

  • Act as a key contact for clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, ensuring professional and transparent communication.
  • Participate in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement processes to secure high-quality services and parts.


5. Ensuring Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, quality standards, and industry legislation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and technical activities to support audits and compliance.


What We’re Looking For:


Experience & Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in a service, maintenance, or technical support role within the Façade Access Industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and safety standards relevant to façade access systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
