Cloud Practice Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Practice Lead to establish and lead a practice specializing in AWS cloud migration and modernization. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, a proven track record in managing and delivering complex cloud migration projects, and the ability to build and grow a high-performing team. This leadership role will be responsible for defining the DevOps roadmap, managing a team of DevOps engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and automation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DevOps methodologies, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD processes, as well as a proven track record in leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the overall strategy and vision for the practice, including service offerings, target markets, and growth plans.
- Build and lead a team of cloud engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the delivery of complex AWS migration and modernization projects, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction. This includes the execution of AWS Migration Readiness Assessments (MRA), AWS Well-Architected Reviews and AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) projects (Assess and Mobilize), ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with AWS and other key partners.
- Provide thought leadership and technical expertise to the team and clients, staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices.
- Collaboration with Software Engineering Teams: Partner closely with engineering, QA, product management, and operations to integrate DevOps best practices and tools into the development lifecycle with a focus on cloud migration and modernization.
- Process Optimization: Standardize DevOps processes across the organization to improve scalability, reliability, and security, while reducing time-to-market.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including pre-sales activities, proposal development, and client presentations.
- Collaborate closely with sales and account teams to support opportunities, scope projects, and develop compelling business cases.
- Manage practice financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
- Stay abreast of emerging AWS technologies and industry best practices, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of cloud expertise.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in AWS cloud technologies, including migration, modernization, and architecture.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Worked for an AWS Professional Services partner and familiar with all AWS partner activities, e.g. use of AWS Partner Network portal.
- Proven track record in solutioning, selling, leading and managing successful cloud projects and teams.
- Strong business and commercial acumen and understanding of the cloud market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on developing and mentoring talent.
- AWS certifications are highly desirable.
