The Role

Reporting to the Group Operations Financial Controller, as a Graduate Finance Assistant, we are looking for someone who has just finished their university degree or is in the early stage of their career to join our growing and supportive finance team as the company takes its next steps. Key areas of this role will focus on Revenue Management and Sales Ledger Accounting.

This is a critical role in ensuring the strong maintenance of accounts receivable balances within the business whilst supporting the finance team and other departments through delivering scheduled and adhoc reporting requirements. The role will also play a part in the company's month end process, supporting the wider team in completing the month end reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Management & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and analysis, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting of deferred revenue, ensuring accurate tracking of unearned revenue and timely recognition of revenue as performance obligations are met.
  • Daily cash up process including reconciliation of all receipts against the ledger and payment providers.

Accounts Receivable Management and Reporting

  • Management of the company's sales ledger, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted in the accounting software.
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolving clients' billing issues when received posting adjustments and reconciling individual accounts.

Month End Close and Reporting

  • Supporting the completion of monthly management accounts by completing relevant month end journals e.g. revenue re-allocation
  • Maintaining and reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts, as part of the month end process.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations of revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue and accounts receivable.

System Processes and Development

  • Collaborating with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
  • Supporting site-based teams with adhoc finance support including in person requests.
  • Provide training and guidance on revenue and commercial queries to the houses and support office.

Requirements:

  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong excel skills including HLookup Tables and accurate data entry processing skills.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Some experience of using accounting software e.g. xero or sage
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
