UK, UK, United Kingdom Egis in the UK Full time

Cyber Security Consultant -Aviation Management Consultancy

Location: Farnborough

Join our highly successful team within the Egis Aviation Service Line serving clients globally both in aviation and other related transport domains.

Egis is a leading global consulting, construction engineering and operating firm. We work hand-in-hand with our clients, across every aspect of transport, energy and the built environment to build a more balanced, sustainable and resilient world. The Egis Group has more than 50 years of experience and a team of 19,500 employees in over 120 countries around the world. Joining our Group means, above all, sharing our values as a people-first company, strongly committed to sustainability and innovation.

Aviation is complex and challenging, globally networked, highly regulated and safety-critical – yet also subject to market forces and ‘shocks’ – it’s hardly surprising that few firms can claim to truly understand the aviation industry. We do. With over 4,000 successful projects delivered in 100+ countries, our experts have provided trusted consultancy and design and engineering solutions to major airports, ANSPs, industry and governments; improving efficiency and safety of operations, conducting policy and strategy, through almost every significant change in the industry.

Job description

We are now seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join our team to help us meet our growing order book. The role has the possibility to be based in Farnborough (UK), Zilina (Slovakia), Prague (Czech Republic) or Singapore.

We currently have some exciting projects which will provide you with an opportunity to learn about the different cybersecurity areas including cybersecurity strategy management, risk assessment techniques, security by design, and many others.

Depending on the candidate we are open to different levels of experience from a new graduate, to someone looking to change their career, to existing cyber security consultants looking for a new challenge.

The consultancy environment can be very fast-paced with opportunities emerging at very short notice that will require a flexible, agile approach to delivering excellence in consultancy services and meeting or exceeding client requirements. If this sounds like a challenge that appeals to you, we would love to speak with you to understand how you can fit into our team.

We have a flat collegiate structure and work in small project teams where our philosophy is to encourage you to manage your own career and time. You’ll have far more autonomy than our competitors offer and, in return, we ask that you deliver high quality work and ensure that our clients continue to come back to us (currently 80% of our work is repeat business)

Profile

  • You must have a keen interest in working within aviation to improve the security of the industry
  • You will be interested in technical work but also keen to work on wider consultancy projects and other activities within aviation
  • You must thrive on problem solving and the application of your excellent critical thinking skills
  • Your written and verbal presentation skills must be of a high standard
  • The ability to speak a second language is a plus
  • You should enjoy the prospect of client engagement whether in workshops, training sessions, one-to-one meetings or simply networking over coffee
  • Candidates must be expecting a 2:1 or above in a technical subject such as engineering, computer science, information technology, telecommunications and networking, etc.
  • You will have demonstrable enthusiasm for cyber security and 1-2 years’ experience relevant to cyber security is desirable

Benefits/Salary Details:

  • Competitive salary
  • Pension contribution of 5% of your salary
  • Life insurance
  • Private healthcare for you and your family
  • Health cash plan
  • 26 days holiday plus UK bank holidays
  • Tailored career path with structured training
  • Mentoring from senior staff
  • Buddy system to ease your transition from university

We are committed to our planet:

In each project we design, engineer and operate we care deeply about the legacy we’re leaving behind. As part of our team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to use your skills and expertise to shape a better future for our communities in the UK, and all around the globe.

Our commitment is translated in the work carried out by our Egis Foundation, which funds concrete actions to address the climate crisis and is focused on educational and social initiatives that will help in the responsible and sustainable shift towards a sustainable world.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion:

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we strive to build a workforce that truly reflects the communities we represent. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and any other protected characteristic. If you decide to apply for an opportunity with us, your application will be assessed based purely on your experience, the essential and desirable criteria, and your suitability for the role. We value each and every one’s contribution as this builds our culture and means that if you work with us, you will be included, listened to, and respected.
