Job Title: Cyber Security Business Analyst


Day rate up to £450 (Umbrella)

3 Days onsite per week (London)


Client Overview:

Our partner is a leading global commodities firm that is distinguished for its excellence in the energy and metals sectors. We are in search of a Cyber Security Business Analyst who comprehends the integration of Infrastructure IT with Information Security.


Position Overview:

The Cyber Business Analyst will play a key role in advancing our client’s cybersecurity initiatives, focusing on compliance with the DORA framework to ensure robust digital operational resilience. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to assess risks, develop and implement security strategies, and ensure that cybersecurity measures are aligned with both industry regulations and business objectives.


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity
  • Demonstrated success in implementing cybersecurity strategies in a complex, global business environment / regulated industry.


Technical Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, DORA).
  • Expertise in risk management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment & Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities across the client’s digital infrastructure, with a focus on energy and metals operations.
  • Analyse business processes and systems to detect potential cybersecurity threats and recommend mitigation strategies.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work with the firm's Information Security Manager and business users to implement information security strategies, both short-term and long-term in support of the company’s goals.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring a clear understanding of cybersecurity issues and solutions.


Cybersecurity Strategy & Implementation:

  • Assist in the formulation and execution of cybersecurity policies and protocols tailored to protect the client’s critical assets in the Energy and Metals sectors.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of existing security controls, suggesting enhancements where necessary.


Incident Response & Management:

  • Support the Cyber Security team in the timely response to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in the development, review, and testing of incident response plans to ensure preparedness against potential threats.
  • Prepare documentation for internal audits, regulatory reviews, and other compliance-related activities.
