Leading finance research and ratings agency Fairer Finance is looking for a new Commercial Director to join its fast growing team, based in London.

About Fairer Finance

Fairer Finance is a leading ratings, research and consumer advocacy business founded in 2014, with a mission to create a fairer financial services market.

The company publishes ratings on banks, insurers and other financial services businesses across over 30 different sectors. These ratings are free for consumers to use. Fairer Finance makes its revenue by selling access to its data, selling licences to use its endorsements, and through its consultancy work with businesses to support them in delivering better outcomes for customers.

The role

Fairer Finance is looking for a new leader to shape and direct its commercial strategy, and to drive continued growth in the business. Following a successful fund raise in 2021, the company has doubled in size over the last three years and is now looking for a commercial director to help lead the next stage in our development.

You’ll be responsible for all sales and marketing activity across the business, helping us build sustainable growth whilst staying true to our mission and values. You’ll be a key member of the company’s executive leadership team, and ready to collaborate with colleagues from across the business to help us achieve our goals. You’ll manage a small team – but have regular contact with people from across the business.

You’ll be expected to work from our central London office at least twice a week, working from home on other days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a new commercial strategy for the business
  • Lead and manage the company’s sales team
  • Establish and foster new customer relationships and partnerships
  • Plan and execute a marketing strategy for the business
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the business
  • Report to the board and consumer advisory board on our commercial strategy and progress
  • Present to clients and represent Fairer Finance at external events
  • Manage the company P&L, invoicing and cashflow

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior sales, marketing or commercial role
  • Line management experience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Numerate with at least basic accounting skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Understands the principles of B2B marketing, including content marketing and social selling
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry is desirable but not essential
  • A passion for our mission and the drive to help us achieve it
