Business Development Representative (BDR)

Hybrid (Home/Glasgow office)

Circa £25K-30K Basic based on experience + Performance Bonus + Excellent Career Opportunity


Our client is recognised as an established and innovative software company who specialise in creating industry leading workforce management solutions, focused on transforming and effectively managing business operations.


As an integral part of their sales strategy, they have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished sales professional, capable of generating new business opportunities in line with company sales objectives.


This position will report to the Account Director and the successful applicant will assume responsibility for the following:


  • Develop and deliver an agreed lead generation plan by researching, Identifying, cultivating, and qualifying new prospects across multiple persona and industry types
  • Engage with prospective clients and ensure they are effectively introduced to the company’s software solution set and value proposition
  • Qualify the client’s needs profile and secure a face-to-face meeting for the Account Director or deliver an online demonstration to further engage and create interest
  • Maintain an accurate record of lead generation activity and client development by effectively updating the CRM record
  • Provide accurate and timely lead generation reports to the Account Director
  • Schedule attendance at relevant networking events and industry conferences
  • Assist Digital Marketing Manager with campaigns, and the follow ups/leads from that activity


Candidates will likely possess the following skills, experience, and personal attributes:


  • A demonstrable track record of lead generation/business development, preferably gained within an IT software solutions organisation, but not mandatory
  • A consultative approach and ability to pinpoint improvement areas and opportunities within a prospective client base
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to create and effectively deliver compelling presentations to a wide range of clients and stakeholders
  • Strong commercial understanding with accomplished sales qualification skills
  • Self-motivated and resilient with a positive, enthusiastic, focused approach with a strong determination for success
