An experienced Linux system administrator is needed to work within the existing team and take an individual lead on project work. The role is technically demanding, suitable for someone with extensive prior experience as a Linux system administrator or perhaps in an operations-focused DevOps role. A candidate must demonstrate experience in a commercial environment, with prior experience within an ISP being a distinct advantage.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain network infrastructure functions such as DNS, RADIUS, and service assurance functions.
  • Support and maintain Linux infrastructure, such as the virtualisation cluster and the servers hosted on it.
  • Take the lead on individual project deliveries where required.


About You


Experience Required

  • Extensive and demonstrable Linux experience. Experience with Debian based distributions will be an advantage.
  • Infrastructure automation experience. Puppet is the automation tool of choice, but transferrable skills from other platforms will be considered on their individual merits.
  • Python skills. This isn't a development role, but a lot of automation is geared around Python, and good Python skills will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
  • A solid grounding in networks and IP. High-level expertise is not a requirement, but a candidate without an understanding of the fundamentals is unlikely to thrive in this position.
  • Experience Desirable
  • Experience in the telecom industry.
  • Experience with SNMP-based system and network monitoring tools, particularly at a large scale, will be an advantage.
  • Good Grafana skills will likewise be looked on favourably.

  • Driving license essential.
  • Infrequent travel to alternate office locations as requested.
