Smart Metering sits as a key enabler of a net-zero energy system and there has never been a more important time for ensuring that smart meters and the supporting Smart Energy Code (SEC) arrangements are fit for the future. The parties to the SEC are at the forefront of developments that will allow energy consumers to make better use of their energy and reduce their energy bills, whilst ensuring more efficient use of the energy system and assets. At the heart of decarbonising the UK economy, the energy sector is an exciting place to be SECCo is arguably one of the most important bodies in ensuring we achieve the UK’s low-carbon goals.


The SECCo Board is working to increase the executive capacity of SECCo, introducing new roles to work alongside the existing SEC code administrator and together provide a better service to SEC Parties.

This role will require you to provide general administrative support to the Chair and senior leadership team as well as keeping accurate employee records and data relating to procurement and finance. The role holder will report to the Chair and play a key part in co-ordination and liaison across the team and more widely with service providers.

Remote working (with some meetings in London typically twice per month)

Salary range

Competitive salary, depending on experience, plus a good benefit package

You will need to:

· Provide administrative support to the team including

· Supporting with room / office bookings and booking travel arrangements

· Supporting the Chair with organisation of their calendar

· Arranging and scheduling meetings as required

· Taking notes, minutes, and actions at meetings

· Providing other administrative support as required

· Administer employee records

· Administer and record employee attendance including sickness, annual leave and working hours

· Support the team with the administration of employee benefits and comms relating to this

· Provide admin support for training needs including researching and booking training

· Maintain employee records including GDPR compliance

· Administer finance, procurement and service providers

· Administer & ensure timely approval of expenses

· Liaise with payroll provider to notify of any changes to personnel (leavers/joiners) and changes to each person’s benefits

· Record and validate invoices and expenses

· Order and co-ordinate delivery of supplies

· Organise & communicate

· Develop and maintain a digital filing systems and database for own areas of responsibility

· Provide general support to the team with writing and sending out comms as required

· Create reports as required

· Prioritise administrative work requests (working with manager)

· Liaise with the team, suppliers and service providers as required

· Carry out other administrative tasks and projects as required

The successful candidate will have:

· Good oral and written communication skills and numeracy skills

· Ability to organise own work

· Good skills in Office 365 tools including Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint

· Good diary management skills

· Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

· Good skills in communication with people at all levels of the organisation

· Previous experience as an Executive or Administrative Assistant
