We're a state-of-the-art Brighton Post house at the forefront of remote post production and specialising in longform television productions. Established in 2014, Virtual Post has gained a reputation for providing a client-focused service across the post-production spectrum. Our work includes documentaries, factual and entertainment television, films, and event cinema


We now have an opportunity for an experienced Head of Operations to come and join our talented team.


The ideal candidate will have a track record in a similar environment. Someone who can confidently display an expert knowledge of the post production industry, combined with a collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence others into action and think creatively about solutions. You will be responsible for the management of the operations team, a member of the senior leadership team and a great resource, and source of industry knowledge for the business and clients alike.




Roles & Responsibilities


  • Line management of the operations department including development and delivery of training plans. Championing talent and excellence within the team and across the business.


  • Accountability for all parts of the post production pipeline from ingest, offline, conforms to delivery. Including content being editorially signed off and technically passed for transmission. Combined with the timely delivery of content.


  • Proactive trouble shooting at all stages of Post Production workflows within your capability and development and sharing that learning and development. Point of contact for escalation. Liaise with post producers and other technical departments within the company to resolve complex issues.


  • Continuous evaluation, improvement and documentation of workflows and processes to support and ensure a smooth delivery of services.


  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality within the department and across the business .


  • Build strong working relationships with all departments, freelancers and clients, to ensure seamless collaboration, quality and communication.


  • Pro-active support and solution-finding for our clients and their productions.


  • Develop and manage capacity and budgets for the department, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services by collating costs, resource and personnel requirements for post production operations.


Previous experience and qualifications


  • At least 3 years experience leading and managing operational teams within the Post Production environment.
  • Demonstrable technical and operational skills within Post Production
  • Excellent working knowledge of but not limited to:

Avid Media Composer & ProTools

Adobe Premiere

Blackmagic Resolve

Remote working applications

Shared editorial storage systems


  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator at all levels including stakeholders.
  • Good judgement with the ability to balance the needs of the company and employees.
