With the recent appointment of a new CIO and the launch of a significant data strategy, this moment represents an ideal time to join the expanding Data & Analytics Team. The role calls for an experienced Data Governance Manager with a comprehensive understanding of information and data management throughout the entire data lifecycle. This position is critical for supporting enterprise operations with a multi-site presence across the UK.


In the transition towards becoming a data-centric organisation, there is a clear need for an individual to lead the development and enforcement of data management and governance frameworks across the group. The role involves leading a small team, establishing robust data governance practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Close collaboration with colleagues across the business, including data sponsors, owners, and stewards, is essential to support the effective management of data assets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks across the organisation.
  • Ensure the integration of data governance processes across all business units.
  • Assign and support data owners and stewards in managing critical data assets.
  • Collaborate with data sponsors, owners, and department leaders to align governance practices and uphold high standards.
  • Provide expert advice on data management methodologies.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance data quality and resolve any issues.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and relevant regulatory requirements in data governance.


Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in data management, data governance, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of data management practices across the data lifecycle, including tools, methodologies, and architecture.
  • Experience in defining and embedding data ownership and stewardship roles within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR.
  • Experience in developing and implementing information governance frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate the importance of data governance effectively across the business.

  • Deep knowledge of data governance best practices, including regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to think strategically and work at detailed levels, providing leadership in data governance.
