The successful candidate will manage an in-house team, including both field staff and office-based coordinators, ensuring smooth operations and high standards across all properties.


Role Overview:


As Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of:


  • Overseeing project work to maintain and refresh properties.
  • Supervising routine tasks, such as fire alarm checks.
  • Budget planning for reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance work.
  • Driving efficiency and productivity within the department.


This is a pivotal role that offers the opportunity to lead and implement change within the organization. The ideal candidate will excel at prioritizing regular tasks alongside urgent issues and be adept at using technology to manage workloads effectively. Team collaboration and delivering excellent tenant experiences are integral to the role.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Proactively manage the Maintenance Department and all associated staff.
  • Report to the Executive Director and board on departmental performance.
  • Continuously review and enhance processes and procedures to drive efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain professional, customer-focused relationships with staff, clients, tenants, and the public.
  • Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and optimise maintenance costs.
  • Actively contribute to the Management Group and Health and Safety Group.


Candidate Requirements:


  • Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Preferred experience in property or lettings management.
  • Relevant qualifications aligned with the responsibilities of the role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.
