Technical Sales Manager

Location: UK - home office

Reports to: Managing Director


Our client specialises in providing high-quality plant-based proteins, including Chickpea, Red Lentil, and Fava Bean proteins, all manufactured in the UK to the highest standards. As part of a group that specialises in the manufacture of natural ingredients, the company is a leader in producing functional raw materials. These materials are used across various sectors, including both human and animal nutrition.


This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the growth of sustainable and nutritious plant-based proteins in the global food and beverage industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the market presence of the company, helping to shape the future of plant-based nutrition.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Commercial Business Development within the designated territories and sales categories.
  • Function as principal commercial contact for customer & regional appointed distributors.
  • Attend customer / industry seminars or relevant events for target market sectors.
  • Assist in setting sales strategy in line with business management.
  • Innovate and guide in-house new product applications development & technical support based on customer/market feedback for company product(s) offering.
  • Attend industry/product relevant training courses / seminars where requested by the company.


Requirements:

  • BSc preferred MSc in Food Science, Technology, or Chemistry
  • Minimum 5 years technical product sales experience - B2B Food ingredient product sales preferred.
  • Proven track record of commercial sales and business development successes
  • Creative and Innovative approach to product & applications development
  • Strong ability to lead NPD projects.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate technical product benefits at high level.
  • Ability to travel internationally ~30%
  • Excellent communication skills
